Brunswick Fire Station

The Brunswick Fire Station features accommodations for eight firefighters, four drive-through bays, training facilities and a hose tower with drying capabilities. It is also a back-up emergency control center for the town. In typical station layout design, the building is segregated into public, private and vehicle spaces to provide maximum functionality, access control and comfort for the firefighters.

The challenges: This project was the result of a design competition, sponsored by the Town of Brunswick. Ouellet Construction stressed the importance of longevity—constructing a building that could serve the community into the next century. To meet these goals we selected durable building materials that will require minimal maintenance.

Additional challenges: Underlying conditions required soil densification prior to building. Throughout construction, we worked in a confined space, due to the abutting CMP driveway, access to which had to be maintained at all times.
