Mike Ouellet Voted to AWS Board
Mike Ouellet, CPC, President of Ouellet Construction, was voted onto the AWS board of directors on May 15, 2019, at their annual May meeting. He attended his first board meeting on August 21st, to officially start his 3-year term.
The Animal Welfare Society is a private, 501(c)(3) non-profit humane society located in Kennebunk, Maine and is a regional leader in companion animal welfare. The board of directors at AWS is focused on analyzing current trends in animal welfare, and continuing to evolve to meet the changing needs of the animals and community members they serve.
Mike was approached by the AWS director, along with their board, to join. He said he pursued the invitation for several reasons.
“They are a very well-run organization and have an extremely dedicated staff and group of volunteers,” said Mike. “I’m hoping to bring my knowledge of construction to help with facility needs both now and for future growth projects.”
AWS Executive Director, Abigail Smith, commented about Mike joining the board, saying,
“We are beyond thrilled to welcome Mike to the board and feel privileged to have his expertise and insights as we continue to develop our 36-acre campus and improve our facilities.”
Mike also noted his admiration of the organization and its network of volunteers, stating,
“I am extremely impressed with the level and quality of volunteers they have both on the board and in general – some of whom have over 25 years of service. This says a lot about an organization.”
Mike attended his first official AWS event – the dedication of the facility’s new dog kennels – on Tuesday, August 20th.
