Ladd Library

The renovation of Bates College’s Ladd Library was completed in phases over several summers.

The project entailed upgrading the electrical and mechanical systems for energy efficiency and noise reduction, installing a dual-action sprinkler system, converting an old classroom into a state-of-the-art computer training facility and bringing the building up to ADA-compliance.

The challenge was performing the work in a tight, ten-week timeframe, while the library remained open. Ouellet used negative air machines to maintain a dust-free environment.
