Residence Village Complex

Built with a masonry bearing wall, pre-cast plank and brick veneer, the complex is comprised of four buildings: three residence halls and a student center. The dormitories house four suites per floor and two common bathrooms.

The cylindrical student center, at the center of the complex, is capped with a conular roof. The interior features a special noise reduction system to reduce echoes and enhance sound for the hearing impaired.

After a series of unforeseen setbacks, the college requested that construction be accelerated on the residence halls to ensure their completion in time for fall occupancy. We performed our own masonry to accommodate the request, enclosing the entire site in order to work through the winter.

Residence Village received the Boston Society of Architects’ Honor Award for Design Excellence in 1996.
