Saint Gobain/Brunswick Technologies, Inc.

When Brunswick Technologies (subsequently purchased by Saint Gobain)  needed to expand, they held a design/build competition in search of an innovative solution.
Eighteen firms responded and four were asked to submit proposals. According to BTI’s president, “Ouellet’s building design was the most creative solution to our comprehensive set of specifications.”

The clear span design freed up approximately 30% more usable space for the same cost as a pre-engineered structure, providing room for future expansion. This design allowed for 18-foot ceilings in the manufacturing space and 25-foot ceilings in shipping and receiving. The unique design of the roof framing system allowed for an R38 insulation factor in the ceiling. The project was completed with zero change orders.
