Lead Foreman/Carpenter

A key member of our onsite team, we are looking for a lead carpenter to execute and oversee carpentry and construction on commercial projects. Our customers and subcontractors rely on us for organized, clean job sites and on-time, on-budget execution. The lead carpenter needs to be committed to those standards and hold the team accountable.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 7-10 years in commercial/high-end residential construction
  • Located in Central, Coastal & Southern Maine
  • Experience leading a small to medium-sized crew, including tools and equipment
  • Understanding of basic commercial codes, means, and methods
  • Located in southern Maine is a plus
  • Carpentry experience is required; commercial experience is preferred but not required
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Solid interpersonal skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to take direction, lead and coordinate task at hand
  • Strong work ethic
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Professional, outgoing, energetic, and self-motivated
  • A willingness to learn more about the commercial construction business
  • Creative, able to see what needs to be done and see how it could be done better

Responsibilities:

  • Great leadership and communication skills with managers and clients
  • Understand the various responsibilities involved in building processes
  • Lead by example by following established company safety policies, rules, and regulations to maintain a safe and clean environment
  • Highly organized, naturally oriented to plan, resolve, and de-escalate issues
  • Strong interpersonal skills; knows how to effectively lead and motivate others for the greater good of the project, client, and our organization
  • A role model to the team who prioritizes and adheres to company safety policies without exception
  • Maintain confidentiality of client and business information at all times
  • Understanding of drawings, sketches, or building plans to prepare project layout and determine dimensions and materials required
  • Use hand/power tools safely and have the ability to train others
  • Install structures and fixtures, such as wood/metal framing, windows, door frames, trim, hardware, metal stud framing
  • Perform other related duties as required
